Thousands of socialists and activists gathered in Chicago for Socialism 2026, a four-day conference focused on organizing, Marxism, labor movements and strategies for expanding the movement’s political influence.
Hasan Piker was among the featured speakers, telling attendees that the movement should be more direct and aggressive in promoting socialist ideas. The conference featured more than 100 discussions, lectures and workshops covering issues including labor, immigration, international politics and organizing.
The conference also drew attention for its health rules. Organizers required attendees to wear N95 or K95 masks over their nose and mouth while inside formal conference spaces, with masks provided for those who needed them.
