Spain has granted a cruise ship struck by a deadly hantavirus outbreak permission to dock in the Canary Islands, where passengers and crew will receive medical care and be sent home.
Health officials say three people have died, and there are concerns the virus may have spread between close contacts onboard. Investigators believe some cases may have originated before the voyage.
