Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed (D) went on Fox News and repeatedly brought the conversation back to one question: Are more wars actually making Americans safer?
During the interview, El-Sayed pushed back on arguments for the war in Iran, tying the conflict to higher gas and grocery prices, the cost to taxpayers and the lives of U.S. service members.
“There was no war and then there was a war,” he said. “And more war has made us less safe. It has increased our prices.”
Later, when asked why he continues to appear on outlets and platforms with very different audiences, El-Sayed said the goal is to reach as many voters as possible.
“It’s less about the person you’re talking to,” he said. “It’s about the audience that you’re speaking to.”
