Former American Idol contestant and pastor Caleb Flynn was sentenced to life without parole Monday for the murder of his wife, Ashley Flynn.
Flynn maintained his innocence during sentencing and said he would continue fighting his conviction. Prosecutors argued evidence presented at trial, including smartwatch data and details from the crime scene, pointed to Flynn as the killer and that he staged a break-in.
Flynn also received consecutive sentences for tampering with evidence and firearm enhancements.
Family members, including Flynn’s two daughters, delivered emotional statements during the sentencing hearing. Flynn reportedly intends to appeal.
