The Supreme Court has issued a series of significant rulings affecting multiple legal battles involving President Trump.
Justices declined to hear an appeal related to the defamation verdict in the E. Jean Carroll case, leaving in place a $5 million judgment. In a separate matter, the Court ruled that Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook may remain in her position while her legal challenge proceeds. At the same time, the Court allowed the president greater authority over removing leaders of certain independent regulatory agencies, including the FTC.
The justices are also weighing a major case involving President Trump’s executive order on birthright citizenship, with arguments centered on constitutional interpretation and ongoing legal challenges from the ACLU.
