FEDERAL JUDGE BLOCKS TRUMP’S MOVE TO FEDERALIZE NATIONAL GUARD IN PORTLAND

A Trump-appointed federal judge in Oregon temporarily blocks President Trump’s plan to federalize 200 National Guard troops amid rising tensions in Portland. The ruling halts the deployment through at least October 17, as hearings continue over the legality of the move. Meanwhile, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon launches a DOJ civil rights investigation into the Portland Police Bureau following allegations of discrimination against conservative journalists.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt condemned Antifa violence after the arrest of journalist Nick Sauder, calling the unrest “left-wing anarchy.” President Trump has directed his administration to review potential federal funding cuts to the city.
